A Mass Grave In Afghanistan Raises Questions
July 23, 2009
In 2001, shortly after the American invasion of Afghanistan, hundreds or possibly thousands of Taliban and Al Qaeda prisoners surrendered to Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum, an Afghan warlord on the payroll of the C.I.A.
Over the course of three days, the captured prisoners were allegedly packed into shipping containers without food or water. Many suffocated, while others were reportedly shot by guards.
The mass grave has never been fully exhumed, and human rights groups allege that the Bush administration discouraged investigation of the matter, even after the urging of officials from the F.B.I., the State Department and the Red Cross.
Dr. Jennifer Leaning, Nathaniel Raymond and Dr. Nizam Peerwani of Physicians for Human Rights discuss their investigation of the alleged massacre and how the Obama administration is dealing with the issue.

What is happening to folks.... --------------------------------
Jesus Christ Superstar actor hanged himself over lung cancer fear An actor who starred in Jesus Christ Superstar, the musical, hanged himself after fearing he had lung cancer, even though he was totally healthy.
Lee Rhodes, 38, may have committed suicide on London's Hampstead Heath because he feared he was dying.
Mr Rhodes, of South Hampstead, north London, took his own life two days before he was due to see a psychiatrist.
The dad-of-one, who had played the lead role in Andrew Lloyd-Webber's show Jesus Christ Superstar, did not have cancer, it emerged.
His family insists he could have been given better care.
Two weeks before his death, he had gone to casualty after taking an overdose.
Ima Castro, speaking on behalf of Mr Rhodes' wife Irene at St Pancras Coroner's Court, said: "She thinks the NHS failed Lee.
"She thinks that after the overdose he should have been monitored 24/7."
Mr Rhodes, who had a seven-year-old son, had become very anxious in the months before his death.
Deputy assistant coroner Sean McGovern said: "Mr Rhodes had appeared in a number of shows, along with his wife, but last year his mental health declined.
"He resigned from his job and was troubled by a number of issues including his own health and the possibility that he might have lung cancer."
Mr Rhodes was rushed to the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead after taking an overdose on May 1.
He was referred for help and saw a psychiatrist on May 12.
A second appointment was scheduled for May 18 but he was found hanging by Whitestone Pond in Hampstead Heath just 48 hours earlier.
Mr McGovern recorded a verdict of suicide.
Speaking after the inquest, Ms Castro said: "Lee's father-in-law died from lung cancer two weeks before Lee took his own life.
"I suppose that led Lee to think that he also had the same thing. Lee had this chest infection for three to four months and he was sure that he had lung cancer."
His father, Burt Rhodes, said: "Lee was an absolutely lovely human being. Everybody who met him wanted to be his friend and loved him."
His friend Ellen Briones said: "He was sick and he was crying out for help."
Mr Rhodes starred in a 1998-99 touring production of Jesus Christ Superstar.
There are now plans for a West End event in Mr Rhodes' memory.
Ms Castro said: "We are going to produce a cabaret to raise awareness of mental health in the theatre world.
"There are lots of actors who are going through the same thing."

‘Kill Granny’ media campaign alarms seniors Conservatives lead many to fear bill will lead to ‘euthanasia’ counseling
A campaign on conservative talk radio, fueled by President Obama's calls to control exorbitant medical bills, has sparked fear among senior citizens that the health-care bill moving through Congress will lead to end-of-life "rationing" and even "euthanasia."
The controversy stems from a proposal to pay physicians who counsel elderly or terminally ill patients about what medical interventions they would prefer near the end of life and how to prepare instructions such as living wills. Under the plan, Medicare would reimburse doctors for one session every five years to confer with a patient about his or her wishes and how to ensure those preferences are followed. The counseling sessions would be voluntary.
But on right-leaning radio programs, religious e-mail lists and Internet blogs, the proposal has been described as "guiding you in how to die," "an ORDER from the Government to end your life," promoting "death care" and, in the words of antiabortion leader Randall Terry, an attempt to "kill Granny."

Yippee!! Three parents
The monkeys that prove babies can be born to THREE parents... and may be the key to halting genetic illness
By DAVID DERBYSHIRE Last updated at 8:45 AM on 27th August 2009
Scientists have produced four baby monkeys who each have three biological parents. They used an IVF procedure designed to stop the spread of incurable inherited diseases. Scientists believe the breakthrough could lead to the first geneticallyengineered children within a few years.
Revolutionary: Twins Mito and Tracker are two of the monkeys who were born using an IVF technique that creates babies with three biological parents. They were named after a dye called Mitotracker used in the procedure It has provoked an ethical storm, however. Critics say it is a step towards an era of hybrid children and warn that it erodes the sanctity of life. The technique is intended to help women who carry genetic diseases. It involves transferring healthy DNA from the mother's egg cell into an egg donated by another woman. Children conceived by the technique would inherit DNA from three sources - their mother, the donor and their father. The American team who produced the macaque monkeys - named Mito, Tracker, Spindler and Spindy - say the technique could be used to eradicate potentially fatal forms of inherited epilepsy, blindness and heart disease. The diseases, which affect some 150 UK babies a year, are caused by mutations in the mitochondrial DNA which is passed down from mothers to children. Mitochondria are sausage- shaped 'power packs' that float around inside cells, converting food into energy that the body can use. Each contains a tiny strand of DNA, carrying just 37 of the 20,000 or so human genes. The rest are in the DNA in the cell's nucleus.
Spindler is another of the four monkeys who appear healthy after they were conceived using the new technique Mitochondrial DNA can only be passed on via mothers' eggs, not through sperm. Doctors have identified around 50 diseases caused by mutations of this DNA - some of which kill before adulthood. Symptoms include muscle weakness, dementia, blindness, hearing loss and heart and kidney problems. The U.S. experiment, reported today in the journal Nature, involved researchers at the Oregon National Primate Research Centre. They took an egg cell from a mother carrying a mitochondrial disease and removed its nuclear DNA. This was then transferred into a second, healthy egg, whose own nuclear DNA had been removed. The resulting 'hybrid' eggs contained nuclear DNA from the mother and fully-functioning mitochondrial DNA from the donor, and produced apparently healthy baby monkeys. Such a process alters the DNA inherited by future generations, however - an idea that has long worried ethicists - although mitochondrial DNA affects only how cells convert food into energy, so children would inherit physical characteristics from their real mother's nuclear DNA. Josephine Quintavalle, of the campaign group Comment on Reproductive Ethics, said: 'This is genetic engineering. 'We should avoid at all costs interfering in the pattern of reproduction that has evolved over millions of years. The objective is to stop mitochondrial diseases in the next generation - but it would be absurd if it unleashed something worse in generations to come.'

September 22, 2009 Obamacare is 21st century eugenics (Part 5)
By Bob Kemp
The relationships between American Eugenicists and their German counterparts only grew stronger for the most part in the years leading up to World War II. The 1920's continued to see trans-Atlantic cooperation between the scientists, with parties from both groups traveling overseas to see the work being done and share any new insights they may have achieved. Harry Laughlin, the superintendent of the Eugenics Record Office used his position to collate & disseminate Nazi propaganda in the U.S. The American use of the word "Nordic" and the German use of the word "Aryan" were interchangeable by the end of the 1920's. Nazi propaganda was republished in California by American eugenicists and they also arranged for a Nazi scientific exhibit from Dresden, Germany eugenicists to be displayed in August 1934 at the Los Angeles County Museum during the annual meeting of the American Public Health Association.
In Germany, the Nazi's often quoted the American geneticists who supported the forced sterilization work being done in Germany.
Think back a few months ago when Speaker of the House Pelosi said of the Family planning funds that would provide contraceptives to low income families. It was called the contraception provision and it was buried in the Stimulus bill. Under the proposed provision, states would have been able to offer family planning services including contraception under Medicaid which provides healthcare for the poor without applying for federal permission. The provision was dropped after Pelosi was unable to adequately defend the provision on ABC's "This Week" with George Stephanopoulos. When asked by Stephanopoulos how "Hundreds of millions of dollars to expand family planning services" is stimulus for the economy, Pelosi's embarrassing defense was "Well, the family planning services reduce cost. They reduce cost. The states are in terrible fiscal budget crises now and part of what we do for children's health, education and some of those elements are to help the states meet their financial needs. One of those — one of the initiatives you mentioned, the contraception, will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government."

How the Global Financial Crisis Kills
As we debate the stats of the US economy -- unemployment filings and foreclosure rates -- it's important to put a human face on the global economic meltdown. The financial crisis this year could result in 30,000 to 50,000 additional infant deaths in sub-Saharan Africa, according to a report written by two senior World Bank economists.
How did they conclude this? To reach this estimate the researchers compared Gross Domestic Product -- our most common general indicator of economic strength -- and infant mortality in a host of countries over many years. Then they found the negative difference between projected growth for 2009 and actual growth for 2008. Multiply the past correlation by the current difference and, voila, you have an approximation of how many additional deaths will have resulted from the current crisis.
I know statistics like this can seem hyperbolic. This is indeed a dramatic statistic, and a relatively far-removed correlation can never be taken as causal fact, but the study is rigorous enough that the World Bank has supported it. Using surveys conducted in various years between 1986 and 2004, they compiled histories for 640,000 births. The researchers then compared the infant deaths (in the first year of life) with GDP levels from the 30 countries in which the surveys were conducted.
According to their math, a one-percent drop in GDP correlates to a 0.3 to 0.6 percent increase in infant mortality. It's twice as worse for girls than for boys: that same decline increases mortality among infant boys by 0.3 per 1,000, while it increases that of girls by 0.6 per 1,000. The researchers also looked at deaths among babies born to rural vs. urban mothers and those born to mothers with or without primary school education. Unsurprisingly, infants born to rural and lesser-educated mothers had a higher rate of mortality.
It can't be stressed enough that this estimate is just that -- a best guess. But still, it's an important reminder that when the bailouts and re-regulation are over, we still have a commitment to the developing world for a crisis caused in large part by our meltdown. When we turn back outward, we'll see a world largely made worse by a crisis that came from inside our shores.

Will Keir Starmer still think like this when HE’S old and gaga?
We seldom know exactly when we cross the border between good and evil. Normal, gentle, kindly people discover too late that they have become collaborators with wickedness, and dare not condemn crimes they have themselves committed.
This is the reason for the hatchet-faced defence of abortion by the liberal elite. They took part in the massacre of the unborn in large numbers before mass immigration provided them with legions of cheap live-in nannies and so made parenthood compatible with the two-career lifestyle.
Very often we start to do dreadful things because we are convinced that they are in fact good. Everyone now recoils in disgust from the German National Socialist eugenics and euthanasia programmes.
Hitler, being composed of almost pure evil, simply took the filthy idea to its logical conclusion. Non-German supporters of eugenics – like the contraception fanatic Marie Stopes – were embarrassed into silence by finding themselves in company with such monsters.
But the problem has not gone away. The killing of the inconvenient is always attractive to some, either because they think they can make a perfect world, or because the old, the demented and incontinent are expensive and unproductive. Not one of us, if we are honest, is safe from this temptation.

The wheat from the chaff... ------------------------------ Gene-Testing Machine for Doctors
A new device rapidly analyzes blood for medically relevant genetic variations.
Simple testing: This disposable cartridge can detect genetic variations from blood samples. The circles lining the top and bottom are loaded with reagents for different chemical reactions. DNA is isolated from white blood cells and captured on a glass slide within the cartridge. Credit: Nanosphere
www.technologyreview.com/biomedicine/24042/ ------------------------------ The reason for this "procedure", is admirable of course. It will help to make sure the patient is administered the correct chemicals to treat their condition.
BUT, being a bit of a realist (cynical) person, I know that swords have a double edge... always. I suppose being instantly sorted by generic imperfections cannot be a thing to be wary of... can it?
It seems these days providing medical assistance has become a game of selective application, triage is now a process of "bang for the buck."
You are 70? Oh, your life sucks... too bad you are not 48, we could have helped... if you have insurance.
(In memory of my uncle who passed quite recently, a newly minted example of treatment omission by "graded" check list - UK style.)
Saturday Night Live Segment Last Night - Spraying of People with Viruses from Helicopters
Notice they say Spraying Twice - Once very fast - they say "Spraying" then they say "people will get sick as Hell - Helicopters will Spray your asses with Viruses" and then they show a helicopter spraying. (It is about 3/4's into the segment - where they show the helicopter spraying)
They say - "your ears will bleed" in the beginning - at the very end, they say "you will literally be Underground".
I find these things of interest, considering, part of the PTB "moral codes" are to tell the people in advance what will be happening to them, in one way or another. If you look back in history - we have always been forewarned about what is going to happen. It is from my understanding part of the PTB rules "The people have to be told and that way, they are Okay with it happening". (someone asked me what PTB means - sorry - I did not specify the meaning before. PTB = Powers That Be)
Just another thought - How long before this segment is taken off the net and the NBC SNL site? (Once we have been forewarned and a T.V. show tells us what is going to happen - after a certain amount of time - that T.V. show segment is not to be found nor shown on T.V. again). Research history - you will see this fact is true. ukraineplague.blogspot.com/

A bit from the Breed controversy Jug Suraiya16 December 2009, 12:00am IST India Times
In the early 19th century in Britain, the 'science' of eugenics became the unchallenged mantra. The bastard brainchild of Charles Darwin's theory of natural selection, eugenics was dreamt up by Darwin's cousin, Francis Galton, and was made into a political programme by Darwin's son, Leonard. Basically, eugenics sought to replace Darwinian natural selection (species which can adapt will survive at the expense of species that can't) with planned selection.
Eugenics asserted that the poor were poor not because of political and social inequities but because they had 'degenerate genes'. As such, they had to be made to stop breeding on pain of forced sterilisation, if necessary (shades of Sanjay Gandhi during the Emergency) or society would be destroyed by a sub-human flood of weak-minded, criminally inclined perverts and sociopaths.
Some of the leading intellectuals of the age became passionate evangelists of eugenics, including the socialists Sidney and Beatrice Webb, who claimed it to be the "most important question" of the age. George Bernard Shaw believed that what a fellow eugenicist, Labour MP Will Crooks, called "human vermin" had "no business to be alive" and advocated the use of a "lethal chamber" as a solution.
HG Wells warned that the social order would be "swamped" by "ill-bred, ill-trained swarms of inferior citizens". Eugenicists lobbied the then British government to organise 'flying squads' of scientists who would hunt out the 'unfit' and herd them into concentration camps, preferably after sterilisation. Though such state-sponsored vigilantism did not take place, in 1913, under a Mental Incapacity Act, about 40,000 people were imprisoned without trial, because they were 'feeble-minded' or 'morally defective'. According to Dennis Sewell writing in The Spectator, they included "petty criminals, unmarried mothers and those displaying homosexual inclinations".
The most ardent and energetic of eugenicists was Adolf Hitler who in his efforts to create the 'pure Aryan race' by weeding out all 'Untermensch' like Jews, gypsies and Slavs ended up killing over six million people. Despite this horrific legacy, in 1946 John Maynard Keynes described eugenics as "the most important and significant branch of sociology". It is much easier to kill human beings than it is to kill scientific dogma.
Today of course eugenics is totally discredited, both scientifically and morally. But dogma abhors a vacuum. So what has taken the place of eugenics as the new proselytising religion? Could it be, is it just possible, that it might be man-made climate change?
Blasphemy! Sacrilege! Call up the Inquisition. Bring on the thumbscrews.

For those unfamiliar with the eugenics part of the plan. ==================================
It was in response to the “perfectibility of society” thesis then being advanced by Godwin and Condorcet, that Malthus’s decided to set his ideas down on paper. It was eventually published in 1798, as a pamphlet known as the Essay on Population. According to Malthus, “population, when unchecked, increases in a geometrical ratio. Subsistence increases only in an arithmetic ratio.” Therefore, Malthus concluded that society should adopt certain social policies to prevent the human population from growing disproportionately larger than the food supply. Among the genocidal policies promoted by Malthus were:
Instead of recommending cleanliness to the poor, we should encourage contrary habits. In our towns we should make the streets narrower, crowd more people into the houses, and court the return of the plague. In the country, we should build our villages near stagnant pools, and particularly encourage settlement in all marshy and unwholesome situations. But above all, we should reprobate specific remedies for ravaging diseases; and those benevolent, but much mistaken men, who have thought they were doing a service to mankind by projecting schemes for the total extirpation of particular disorders. ==============================================

Population Control Advocate Wanted To Sterilize Food, Water
A 1972 article about “The Population Bomb” biologist Paul Ehrlich reveals a nascent environmental movement grappling with mass sterilization, climate fears, “international policy planning” and redistribution of wealth. The article reveals dramatic parallels to today’s modern environmental movement.
According to the June 16, 1972 article in the Boca Raton News. The article, part of the Newsweek Feature Service, was written by William J. Cook and was titled “Expert on population pleased by response.”
The article reported: “In 1969, [Ehrlich] said if voluntary birth reduction methods did not work a nation might have to resort to ‘the addition of a temporary sterilant to staple food or to the water supply.’ The proposal brought a charge from one newspaper critic that Ehrlich was ‘worse than Hitler.’” [Climate Depot's Editor's Note: Ehrlich has had a few moments of candor in recent times and apparently admitted his lacks of basic scientific training. See: An Admission finally! 'The Population Bomb's' Paul Ehrlich: 'I wish I'd taken more math in high school and college. Ehrlich has also been in the news recently about a 1977 book he co-authored with President Obama’s science czar John Holdren titled “Ecoscience: Population, Resources, Environment.” The book called for a ‘Comprehensive Planetary Regime could control development, distribution of all natural resources.’ Also See: White House Science Adviser Holdren and Ehrlich Advocated ‘De-Development’ of the United States]
