So she does not take it literally.
But weren't you saying just that?
Is why I was asking who's the lucky guy, the present day Bacon?
Maybe they figure it the same way the Tibetans do with the finding of tulkus.
What say you?
Never really thought about it, but I can imagine it goes something like this...
The intelligent mind probably is hard wired with the notion of this set of aspirations... or something like them. I have used 5 groups as illustration.
It reads from the bottom to the top.
Hierarchy of earth bound aspirations.
To not to be
To become extraterrestrial
To become immortal
To explore extraterrestrial
To control environment
To prolong life
To prevent sickness
To control society
To explore terrestrial
To have wealth
To unite society
To expand society
To have surplus
To avoid sickness
To have safety
To be dry
To be warm
Now, if this notional aspiration list is available at each restart of the planet, every 26000 years or so, the inclination will be to achieve each of the aspirations over time.
Remnants of mythos and artifacts left from the other cycles will tend to support the aspiration list, legends and out of place artifacts will support the aspiration list objectives.
If one sector proceeds on the basis that the aspirations cannot be achieved "literally" due to not being able to imagine how to... due to a loss/lack of technology know how, then this sector will attempt to achieve the aspirations "spiritually," not literally - so this spawns all the "religious" based approaches.
The aspirations remain the same... just the proposed mechanism of achievement is defined as suits the population block.
On the other hand, if a sector or group knows and understands that the aspiration list is achievable literally through the means of what we call science, then they will commit to physically achieving each of the aspirations through technology...
Of course there will be conflict and struggles to defend both approaches.
With repeated attacks from the spiritual block, the science block is bound to go underground, at least until the final moments when they know they have translated the aspiration model into reality.
That is what happened in 2007 - the "New Atlanteans" set up their world wide distributed campuses of UBER MAGIC ready for the end of cycle - beginning of the new cycle.
They spread it out this time because the old Altlantis (Super lab) had been a single place - which proved to be a grave error.
It is realized by the science advocates that their solutions can be for the few only. As to the plan, it is laid out that all forms of belief system are to be prevented from tainting the objectives and that all forms of known government will be also prevented.
The "New Atlantis" is to be run by a committee of scientists - as an entirely pragmatic enterprise. A small commune with the full suite of literal aspirations at their disposal.
All of this was clearly set down and acted upon.
Result - is the proof of what I say. It is not opinion, it is just the recording of result.
What to make of the result is up to each individual.
Opinion is irrelevant I am thinking - just as it has always been.
In contrast, Bacon proposes to postpone and alleviate death though scientific means, not by teaching about the immortality of the soul but by scientific miracles that depend on secrets wrested from the labyrinth.
- The crowning aspiration of the Tudor Gomerite ideal - physical immortality for the select few.
- Avoidance of death and disease for "them" whilst habiting a place of uncrowded paradise.
- Eugenics (for us)
- Immortality (for them)
Look around you - SEE result.
