I am of the mind that evil is not the result of good folks doing bad things so much as defective folks doing what seems to be the thing to do when you are not blessed with all the bits of a full human being.
If one is bereft of the empathy or sympathy or sentient factors then that individual has no good/evil filters to work with and things are reduced to a state of anything goes without remorse -- said copies of human like configuration are quite simply not in the same game as sentient beings and are simply raw predation on the prowl.
I even believe they are a cunning predator who has learnt to look and act like sentient humanity... for the predator of an intelligent specie needs great guile and cunning. So accomplished are they at seeming human, we... the prey are deceived into thinking they are us, but with some mend-able issues. Of course they are not us and never can be and are not a fixable situation.
Some are crude renditions of their kind and are soon incarcerated for breaking laws which are made in defense of predation.
Some are refined and very good at duplicity often passing for sentient humanity and often becoming the rulers of it....
Since the ratio of prey to predator remains constant throughout all known human history, one cannot say these individuals are anomalies, they are in fact a steady state phenomena...
I also think that until humanity realizes the truth of the matter... they will be forever puzzled as to why the world is the way the world is... when the vast majority want no part of the ongoing and monotonous insanity....
Calling them psychopaths or sick humans doesn't cut it, acknowledging their true position and dealing with it would be.
I suspect we are saddled with eternal puzzlement, for invariably THEY are the ones in charge, and our well-being is NEVER a consideration.

Seven Volcanoes In Six Different Countries All Start Erupting Within Hours Of Each Other
A new island has appeared in the Pacific. A submarine eruption just off Nishino-Shima Island Japan has erupted for the first time in 40 years. The Japanese Navy noticed the explosions as boiling lava met sea water giving rise to plumes of steam and ash.
Almost 7,000 miles away in Mexico, the Colima volcano blew its top after a period of relative calm. A steam and ash cloud rose two miles into the sky and the grumbling of the mountain could be heard in towns a few miles away.
In Guatemala the ‘Fire Mountain’ belched out lava and sent up a moderate ash cloud causing an ash fall over nearby towns. The explosions and shock waves occurring in the volcano can be felt by residents over 6 miles away. Doors and windows are reported to be rattling, but there has been no damage so far.
In Vanuatu the Yasur volcano is giving some cause for concern. Although the explosions are quite weak the continuous ash that is coming from the mountain is starting to build up on farming land.
Over to Italy, Mount Etna is putting on quite a display. The current eruption started a few days ago and has been getting stronger as time moves on. A massive eruption lit up the sky and disturbed residents yesterday. The ash cloud was high enough to see flights canceled. The lava flow was the biggest in years, and the town of Zafferana which lay in its path saw some damage. Lava diverters were put into place, and most of the town escaped unscathed.

Biological life is both extraordinarily tough and exceedingly fragile. Through the ages it has proven resilient to a wide variety of conditions our planet has gone through. At the individual level survival is a product of luck and providence, at a higher level diversity and adaptation seems to have kept the flame alight.
I suppose if you are an advocate of extreme environmental meddling/ruination aka the industrial military complex or corporate manufacturing - both of which only survive in a climate of effluent spewing with deadly consequence, the obvious sustainability factor is represented by impervious beings, i.e ones that are not biological. This suggests of course that future mobile entities would need to be de-lifed, in order to survive the "progress" play box.
The alternative of course would be to abandon reckless, wanton and intrinsically deadly activity allowing natural lifeforms to prosper.
This option seems to be beyond the comprehension of the perpetrators and since they currently wield the bludgeon of power and influence are bound to continue their irresponsible course. Life it seems is regarded as a nuisance factor, something to be relegated and sidelined or even toasted off, rather than have it impede agendas.
The wild card of course is nature herself, who with regularity plows under the topsoil and paves the way for another spring... on the cosmic scale of course. I can well imagine that a sudden collapse of what we think of as stable infrastructure would rent all the well laid plans of the self-anointed power mongers into meaningless tatters and remind them swiftly what they are... insignificant although self-delusional micro-dolts.
Life seems to be an anomaly in the business of universes and somehow I think remarkably precious - I am doubtful that sustainability of life centers such as Earth is left to chance, I imagine the universal laws of equilibrium and balance pay no homage to happenstance.
I can also imagine we have been at this point before... and eventually will be again. Cycles are like that... cyclic. :-)
In the meantime... I suppose an individual is supposed to enjoy the ride making the best of the gift...

Internationalization of the Yuan, the opening of Saudi Arabia, the implosion of the EU, and three of the last pillars of the dollar crumble
From the "more than likely" file...
China is the master of this art, but we can see that all other countries are moving away from the US, in a more or less subtle fashion, like Saudi Arabia for example. (2) For the EU, one of the last Americanist bastions outside the US itself, the task is more difficult. Our team anticipates that the European elections of 2014, along with the inevitable rise of extreme right-wing and euroskeptic forces, will lead to an implosion of the current EU framework, with the possibility for Euroland to fill in the place. We analyze in detail the case of Europe in this issue.
The rapid internationalization of the Yuan, causing a decline in the central role of the dollar; the loss of Saudi support, a key part of the petrodollar edifice; and the loss of the Americanist bastion of the EU, replaced by a Euroland relying on the Euro, are all threats to the three remaining essential pillars of American power, which will disappear in 2014, precipitating considerable global upheaval.

The mission of the 2045 initiative is the creation and realization of a new strategy for the development of humanity.
Remember when specie, yes even us, would evolve in response to prevailing conditions and the mystical union of genes? Well apparently we are not shaping up as quickly or as sophisticated enough for at least one group of "thinkers."
Given their preference... the messy business of being a biological life-form is far from satisfactory and we need to be "developed" away from that unpredictable state apparently. They may be having control issues with us, or anticipate foolish resistance?
I don't know anyone off hand personally... who wishes to be developed into something other than a regular human individual
This makes me wonder who and what these "developer" folk are?
What is there driving motivation and should they really be in charge of steering our next iteration when I see no urgent call to be morphed into techno-critters from the general population, who are probably albeit unwittingly, footing the bill for this... if not directly then indirectly.
Sadly, most of the general population are unaware of these curve pushers, until a law comes down making you adopt the position.

Ann Romney's Welsh cakes have become her staple on the campaign trail, often doling out the traditional family treat to reporters traveling with she and her husband as they campaign across the country.
"You know, my grandfather started working in Wales at age six and my grandmother from the time they could ever remember ate Welsh cakes every day at three o'clock and so I'm learning how. I learned from my grandmother and now I'm teaching my grandkids."
